The Veterinary Technician will assist in veterinary procedures, animal handling, and miscellaneous roles to the clinic and health care team.
* Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments, as prescribed by the veterinarian. Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and Family Animal Care core values. * Administer anesthesia to animals, under the direction of the veterinarian, and monitor animals’ responses to anesthetics. Obtain radiographs of animals with knowledge of proper positioning and techniques. * Care for and monitor the condition of animals recovering from surgery or hospitalized patients. * Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces, such as urinalysis and blood counts, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems. * Provide the veterinarian with the correct equipment and instruments, as needed. * Prepare animals for surgery, performing such tasks as shaving surgical areas and placing IV catheters. * * Communicate & educate clients on hospital’s preventative medicine protocols, make recommendations based on patient’s best interest, and effectively communicate messages from the veterinarian to the client.

Customer Service Representative This position will provide record keeping, clerical, scheduling, cash processing, and miscellaneous support roles to the clinic and health care team.
* Provide quality client care to the patients and clients of Family Animal Care. Ability to work with clients and patients in a friendly and professional manner. Tact and diplomacy is a must. * Ability to courteously and professionally answer incoming telephone calls utilizing proper telephone etiquette and place outgoing calls responding to client’s needs. * Schedule appointments; collect all necessary information concerning the patient and client. Prepare necessary paper work in advance * Client Check In – Greet clients in a professional manner, get client and / or patient to appropriate location in a timely manner. * Discharge Patients – Ensure billings are complete, records updated, recheck appointments made, payment posted, and present clients with medications. * Clerical duties – perform various typical office clerical duties as requested by staff. * Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function in order to fulfill the requirements of this position. * Frequent bending, standing for long periods, lifting inventory and transporting patients weighing up to 50 lbs.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Education: A Minimum of a High School Diploma A college degree in Veterinary Assisting, Animal Science, or related field desired.
To provide animal care and handling of all animals housed in the clinic. Other duties include customer service, housekeeping and other tasks pertaining to the daily operations of the veterinary clinic.
* Animal Handling and Care --handle animals by transporting to and from the kennels. * Feed, water and maintain a clean environment for the animals * Housekeeping -maintain kennel areas as well as the front office / exam rooms, all other public areas of the clinic * Customer Service - compassionate and friendly to animals and customers * Detail Oriented-Attention to details when caring for animals * Self starter- Must be able to complete tasks with minimal Supervision
